As a Sales Engineer at OTAVA, you will be instrumental in driving the growth of our managed cloud services by bridging the gap between our technical offerings and client needs. You will collaborate closely with the sales team to understand customer requirements, design tailored solutions, and effectively communicate the value of our services. Your technical expertise and sales acumen will be crucial in helping clients understand how our solutions can address their business challenges and enhance their operations.

Basic Role Responsibilities:

  • Provide pre-sales technical expertise and leadership in cloud technologies, including VMware, Azure, and Cloud Security.
  • Collaborate with sales teams to design tailored cloud solutions meeting client needs.
  • Ensure solutions align with industry best practices and oversee quality implementation.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality results.
  • Stay informed on emerging cloud technologies and recommend adoption as needed.
  • Support the sales cycle by addressing technical queries and concerns.
  • Assist in planning and scoping professional services for cloud deployments.
  • Develop and present compelling product demonstrations.
  • Design customized cloud solutions addressing client-specific challenges.

Technical Experience:

  • 10+ years of proven experience as a Sales Engineer, Solutions Architect, or similar role in the managed cloud services or IT industry.
  • Strong technical background with a deep understanding of cloud computing, virtualization, and security.
  • Enterprise networking skills a plus – firewalls, micro segmentation, VXLAN, virtual firewalls and Fortinet / VMware NSX

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement cloud solutions, with experience in platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and creatively.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Certifications in relevant cloud technologies, such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or VMware.
  • Certified Professional (VCP), are considered a plus.
  • 70% of the role involves pre-sales activities and technical sales support.
  • 30% of the role involves engineering and deployment tasks.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field preferred.

License or Certification (willing to complete in established timeframe)

  • Salesforce or any CRM
  • Azure Fundamentals - AZ900
  • M365 Fundamentals - MS900
  • VMware Sales Professional - VSP
  • Veeam Sales Professional - VMSP or VMTSP
